Virtual Exhibition Space for Technical Historical Objects (VES)
As a Tunisian student, I had the opportunity to participate in the Virtual Exhibition Space for Technical Historical Objects (VES), an international cooperation involving four universities: ISIMS (Tunisia), HKA (Germany), UMPSA (Malaysia), and GUTECH (Oman).
The project aimed to develop an augmented reality (AR) application to showcase technical historical objects, allowing users to interact with and explore them virtually in a museum.
In this project, I had the privilege of working alongside the Malaysian team as a 3D Modeler and Unity Developer. Our focus was on creating a jungle train AR application that offered an immersive view of a historical train in a jungle environment. My contributions included optimizing the 3D train model by converting it from Autodesk Fusion to Blender for improved performance. In Unity, I worked on developing the train interior functionalities within the application, with a special emphasis on the train engine. Additionally, I created animations and particle systems to make the experience more interactive and engaging for users.
This experience allowed me to collaborate with talented students from different countries, enhancing my AR development skills and contributing to a cross-cultural project that brought technical historical objects to life.
